JOB DESCRIPTION
The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, Group of Bioinformatics offers the position of a Bioinformatician.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated bioinformatician who wants to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of heart and lung research. We primarily work with data originating from high throughput techniques (sequencing/mass spectrometry/imaging, various single cell applications) in the context of cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases. The position is intended to develop methods that analyze, integrate and compare high throughput datasets from multiple molecular levels (miRNAs/mRNAs/proteins/chromatin) with a focus on NGS based epigenetics techniques and single cell applications. Employees will find a stimulating international research environment with access to a variety of leading edge technologies, and a professionally trained bioinformatics and IT group.


DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Requirements:

  • Completed university education in the field of Bioinformatics or Computational Biology
  • Solid practical experience with programming languages like Python, Perl, R or Java
  • Excellent English language skills and the desire to work in a dynamic international team
