PhD position in the field of tumor microenvironment and cellular cross talk in lung cancer

The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, Department of Lung Development and Remodeling in Molecular Mechanisms in Lung Cancer and Department of Internal Medicine (Pulmonology/Oncology) at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (JLU) offer the position of a PhD student.

Our group’s aim is to develop novel treatment strategies for lung cancer, studying the molecular mechanisms, tumor microenvironment, immunotherapy and lung tumor imaging. Our international team offers an open, supportive, dynamic and motivating academic environment with excellent training opportunities. We use a wide spectrum of methods: cloning, cell culture, co cultures (2D and 3D), RNAseq, scRNAseq, FACS, ELISA, cell-based assays (proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion etc.), immunohistochemistry, multicolor immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, image analysis, lung tumor xenograft/orthotropic and transgenic mouse models.
