Morphology & Ultrastructural Imaging Service Group Leader (m/f)


The Position
The successful applicant will lead an imaging service facility that supports the work of the institute’s research groups. He/she will have the opportunity to become deeply involved in a wide array of basic science and translational research projects, assisting investigators in answering their scientific questions.
The service facility currently uses a JEM-1400 Plus transmission electron microscope. The service group leader will be responsible for continuously updating the facilities and, whenever necessary, to establish new methodologies.
Responsibilities include quality control, instrument maintenance, and optimizing project turnaround times. A major part of the work will be sample preparation, data processing, and data analysis.
The successful applicant will also be expected to train young scientists in a range of imaging techniques and provide leadership to the current staff of the service unit.

Your profile
Degree in a relevant scientific area or equivalent experience working in an electron microscopy resource facility required, PhD strongly preferred. The applicant should have several years of laboratory experience with a significant part in electron microscopy and microscopy-based preparation protocols.
